GIF Images and PDF Conversion
GIF images are commonly used for simple animations and graphics on the web. They support up to 256 colors and can include multiple frames for animation. Converting GIF to PDF creates a static document from the animated image, capturing either the first frame or a frame you select.
Why Convert GIF to PDF
PDF does not support animation, so animated GIFs cannot be viewed in their original form within a PDF. However, converting a GIF to PDF creates a stable, shareable document. For animated GIFs, you can extract individual frames as separate PDF pages, creating a storyboard-like document.
Conversion Options
Select which frame to capture as the static image in the PDF. For animated GIFs, you can convert all frames to individual pages. The color palette is preserved from the original GIF. Transparency in GIFs is maintained in the PDF output.
Best Practices
For animated GIFs, consider which frame best represents the content. For multi-frame GIFs, converting to a multi-page PDF creates a sequential document. Verify colors after conversion, as the limited GIF palette may appear different in PDF.
